Welcome to Business Furniture, Inc. (BFI). The legacy of our company and its continued success make us one of the most recognized names in our industry. For years we have made business decisions necessary to ensure our success. The most recent decision was looking to hire you.
A Brief History
BFI was founded in 1948 by Benjamin Klausner and his friend Morris Schlein. Working hard to provide furniture to schools, Ben and Morris found success immediately. Eventually Ben would turn the reins over to his sons-in-law, Howard Roth and Paul Gold. During the 1960’s and 1970’s, with Howard's and Paul’s vision, BFI reinvented itself to stay relevant in the market and began servicing markets outside of education. In 1992, Dan Morley, who was then the Sales Manager, was promoted to President. During his tenure, Dan would initiate the purchase of two smaller dealers in the market, almost doubling sales overnight. Dan remained at the helm for 26 years when he decided it was time to take a step back.
With the arrival of Kate Kerpchar, BFI became 57.5% woman-owned and 100% woman-operated, which has allowed BFI to become a certified Women's Business Enterprise (WBE).
The opportunities ahead are endless and we are all excited to see what the future holds.
