When OrganOx, an advanced medical technology company headquartered in the UK, set out to establish its first U.S. location, the leadership team knew the space had to feel familiar, functional, and unmistakably aligned with the company’s identity abroad. Their new office and clinical environment in Madison, New Jersey, needed to mirror the standards of their UK facilities while supporting the operational demands of a U.S. expansion. Guided by its mission, working with clinical partners to redefine what’s possible in organ technology and developing innovations that improve outcomes for patients with acute or chronic organ failure, OrganOx required a space that could advance both its scientific work and its growing global footprint.

The interior design team developed the design vision and recommended BFI as the furniture partner equipped to support a project with this level of technical complexity. Together, the teams worked to balance aesthetics, laboratory functionality, collaboration zones, and brand cohesion while maintaining strict budget expectations.

From the earliest stages, BFI worked hand-in-hand with the design team to translate UK specifications into U.S.-sourced furniture solutions that matched OrganOx’s expectations for quality, style, and performance. Creating a unified environment meant supporting a wide range of functions: corporate offices that needed to feel polished and efficient, engineering labs built for technical precision, clinical training spaces designed for hands-on learning, open benching areas that encouraged collaboration, and lounge zones that offered warmth within a highly specialized workspace.

Throughout the project, every furniture decision supported both the aesthetic vision and the practical demands of the organization. Herman Miller’s Nevi benching systems paired with Verus task chairs established a clean, ergonomic foundation for the workstations. In the lab areas, chemical-resistant Fleetwood cabinetry and worktables provided the necessary durability for daily clinical activities. Meeting rooms were outfitted with technology-ready conference tables that supported virtual discussions as easily as in-person product demonstrations. To balance the more technical zones, the lounge and reception areas were furnished with pieces from Bernhardt, National, Stylex, and Leland, creating an inviting counterpoint that helped the entire space feel cohesive and thoughtfully curated.

BFI managed every detail of selection coordination, finish alignment, procurement, and installation to ensure the final result remained true to the design intent. By the time OrganOx opened its doors, the space captured exactly what the client envisioned: a U.S. hub that felt like an extension of their global headquarters, elevated, functional, and purpose-built.

OrganOx’s new workspace now supports research, training, collaboration, and daily operations with efficiency and style, marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s presence in the United States.
