The newly rebuilt Maplewood Memorial Library is a community-first, environmentally responsible civic space designed to serve residents for generations. Reconstructed on the original library’s footprint using NJ State Library Funding, the new 32,000-square-foot facility is New Jersey’s first all-electric public library and is designed to meet LEED Gold standards. It features 33% more space, expanded programming areas, and a seamless connection to the surrounding Memorial Park.
BFI was engaged early in the process and collaborated closely with Sage and Coombe Architects, project managers McCoy & Simon, and township stakeholders to support the vision for the new library. Our team ensured that all architect-specified furnishings met the required standards for functionality, compliance, and design integrity. Leveraging our experience with public-sector installations and state contracts, we coordinated procurement and installation to meet all project milestones smoothly and efficiently.
BFI collaborated with the architect to ensure that each specified furnishing met the intended design and functional goals of the project. Our team supported the process by managing product compliance, overseeing procurement details, and coordinating a smooth installation that aligned with the library’s overall vision.

— Sarah Lester, Director, Maplewood Memorial Library
