DocuWare relocated to Beacon, NY, a small metropolitan city about an hour north of New York City. For their new office, their aim was to design and develop a space that reflects their family-based values, attracts additional talent, as well as provides an improved setting for their employees. With top-tier technology, modern furnishings, and collaborative workspaces incorporated into the design, DocuWare’s senior leadership worked closely with BFI to help showcase the brand in this updated space.
Their CFO came to the table with a great vision for the facility that he developed with their A&D firm but had concerns regarding the budget. Additionally, the original space had isolated offices, lacked updated technology, did not lend itself to personalization, and was not branded to represent the company. BFI was able to work with him and integrate some of their existing furniture without taking away from the look of the expansion at the new facility.
BFI made sure to work closely with the architecture and design team to ensure their vision would be honored on the two-story, 35,000 sq ft project to create a fresh workspace for 120 staff members.
The client and their architect had a fantastic concept for an open and engaging space. BFI was then able to suggest additional products that would integrate best into the planned space to enhance that vision while being sensitive to the client’s budget. These solutions offered a variety of options for how employees can work, whether individually or collaboratively.
The designer also used artwork to include personal details of DocuWare’s story. These pieces included pictures and murals that included imagery of the corporate headquarters in Germany, old site pictures, local Beacon landmarks, as well as shots of nearby New York City and the Hudson River.
While staying within budget, the teams didn’t sacrifice quality when configuring modular solutions that will stand the test of time.
The DocuWare leadership team is incredibly proud of their newly refurbished facility. Employees, although they have a hybrid work option, are choosing to come into the office to spend time in this beautiful and functional workspace.
The renovation has boosted DocuWare’s technological capabilities, created a vibrant work environment, and helped its employees work more efficiently to service their clients. At the opening of the facility, Beacon’s mayor commented on how the newly renovated space will invigorate business growth for both the company and the town.
